The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas announced this morning that alternative rock band The Flaming Lips will perform a special live show at The Boulevard Pool on Friday, June 17th, 2011.
Formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, The Flaming Lips recorded a series of albums on indie labels in the 1980s and early 1990s before releasing their major label debut Hit to Death in the Future Head on Warner Brothers in 1992. Thanks of the success of the album and the single "She Don't Use Jelly", the band was featured on popular TV shows, including Beverly Hills, 90210, The Late Show with David Letterman and Beavis and Butt-head, and performed sold out tours and shows along with bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Candlebox.
Flaming Lips' live show is just the latest entertainment offering from The Cosmopolitan, the new Las Vegas Strip hotel. Throughout the year, The Boulevard Pool will set the stage for Las Vegas' most unique live concerts. Perched high above The Las Vegas Strip, The Boulevard Pool is a multilevel pool experience by day and an intimate outdoor Las Vegas concert venue with unobstructed sightlines of both the stage and The Strip by night.
Doors for this event open at 8:00 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. Tickets to The Flaming Lips are on sale now and are available online at WDAIV Tickets section or in person at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas box office.
